Industrial KPI dashboards
Real-time KPI and project tracking for an aerospace leader
Context
As part of my apprenticeship and full-time role at Absys.dev for Airbus Helicopters, I helped build dashboards used daily by operational teams. The goal: make critical production, quality and project KPIs readable at a glance — in a sector where internal tools are historically austere, fragmented and unappealing.
The challenge
Centralize data from heterogeneous systems, compute complex business KPIs in real time, and present them in an interface that breaks the usual industrial software stereotypes: clean, hierarchical, pleasant to use, and aligned with Airbus's reliability standards.
Tracking via Excel spreadsheets emailed around, manual weekly updates, divergent versions across teams and decisions delayed for lack of shared visibility.
Centralized dashboards, KPIs computed at the source, real-time views shared between operations and management — faster decisions on reliable data.
The approach
Front-end design and development with Angular and PrimeNG, paired with a rich visualization toolkit (billboard.js, ApexCharts): line charts, stacked bars, treemaps, gauges, complex tables — picked for the actual business need. Back-end aggregation and computation pipeline so the data arrives ready to render. Careful UX work: smooth navigation, relevant filters, contemporary design that still respects the aerospace context.

Outcome
Quick adoption by the teams: what used to live in spreadsheets becomes a shared real-time view. Managers make faster decisions on reliable data. Concrete proof that demanding business software can also be beautiful and pleasant to use.
